Terms
What you get, what it costs, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Quotes and prices
Every job is quoted as a fixed price in writing before work starts, and that quote holds for thirty days. Prices on this site are guides. The quote is the price. No VAT is charged as the business is not VAT registered.
Deposits and payment
Half the fee is payable to book a start date and the work is scheduled once it clears. The balance is invoiced when the site is ready to go live, on fourteen day terms, by card or bank transfer. The site goes live once the balance is paid.
What you provide
When the deposit is paid I send a list of what each page needs. You send me that information and I lay it out and tidy the wording, which is not the same as writing your content from scratch. I also need your images, logo and any logins the job requires. You confirm you have the right to use anything you send me. Delays in getting content are the usual reason a build runs late, and a start date may move if content does not arrive.
Changes
Each package includes the rounds of changes listed on this site. A round means one set of feedback gathered together. Anything outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before I build it, never added to your bill afterwards.
If the job stops
Deposits are non refundable once work has started, as they hold time in the schedule. If you go quiet for more than thirty days I will treat the job as paused and may invoice for the work done. If I cannot finish the job, I refund the deposit less any work already delivered.
Ownership
When the final invoice is paid, the site and its content are yours. The domain, hosting and any accounts are set up in your name from the start. Third party tools and typefaces keep their own licences. I ask to name you as a client and link to the site, and you can say no.
After launch
Small changes are priced per job and quoted before I do them. Hosting for a standard site is free, and the domain is paid for by you directly to the registrar.
Liability
I build and test the site carefully, but I cannot promise particular search rankings, traffic or sales. My liability for any claim is limited to the fee you paid for the work. Nothing here limits liability where the law does not allow it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
